INDIAN
HEAD MASSAGE |
|
|
What is Indian Head Massage?
Indian Head Massage is a treatment
based on Ayurvedic
techniques involving work on the upper back, shoulders,
neck, scalp and face. A variety of massage movements are
used to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation
and restore joint movement. Indian Head Massage is also
used to aid the condition and health of the hair,
particularly when combined with the use of natural organic
oils. |

How does it
work?
Indian Head Massage Works on both a physical and
psychological level, the techniques used represent a
de-stressing programme for the whole body. By massaging the
head and shoulders, energies will become rebalanced and a
general feeling of relaxation will be achieved . Indian Head
Massage can improve blood flow to the head and neck, which
increases the distribution of nutrients to encourage healing
throughout the body. |

What is the
history of Indian Head Massage?
Indian
Head Massage features in the earliest Ayurvedic texts, which
date back nearly 4000 years. These ancient texts describe
that, when used in conjunction with herbs, spices and
aromatic oils, massage had an important medical function and
could not only “strengthen muscles and firm skin”, but also
encourage the body’s innate healing energy. |
